Turkey Bowl & Casserole Cook-Off

We Gather Together... (notice the clean plates!)
The Magic Jello Casserole - thanks Tami!

We STILL got it!

After 17 downs, Team Trusheim makes a score!

The Lady Playa's
Daddy's Little Cub!

In an effort to bring together the parts we love about Thanksgiving (our friends, hanging out, playing football, enjoying Cream of Mushroom soup in many textures) and lose the parts we can do without (35 hours of baking/prep and slavery in the kitchen), the Casserole Cook-Off was born. Everyone was encouraged to dig thru Grandma's recipe box to find a casserole to celebrate the season. Digging thru boxes is a specialty of this group, and dig they did. The winners of the night:

Best Traditional Sarah Littlefield - green bean casserole (invented by Campbell's BTW)
Tastiest/Gourmet Mascha - some magical fancy cheesy potato casserole - yum!
Crappiest Allie and Aly - an old family recipe of Frito Pie. Delicious!
Fanciest Tami & Sandy - Magical stripey jello salad (?!?)
Best not-stripey jello - Beth & Jen (bonus points for bringing the puppy chow crappie appie!)
Best item in a blanket - Joey - Pigs in a Blanket
Best use of leftovers - Cherri & Taya - just like thanksgiving in a bath of C of M soup.
Best use of Tuna "Pada suprise"?? - Kristin & Sam - Tuna and Pasta. Yep.

Good times, good times.

Junior goes to Hawaii

Kelly at 21 Weeks at the Tunnel's Beach - Kauai - Nov 10-17

We thought it would be a great idea to enjoy one last lovely, romantic beach vacation with Junior tucked away in a safe place. This day, we hiked the Na Pali coast trail and up to the waterfall and wanted to take a swim to rinse the red mud off our bodies. Surf was high. The beach was flagged unsafe, but since we saw a native and his kids managing the waves, we thought we'd give it a go. All I remember was seeing a huge wall of water coming at us, and hearing "Get out of the water - NOW". We got out of the water in record time. Plenty of time for the rinse cycle. No need to spin.

Ultrasound at 20 Weeks!

Can you see Junior?

November 5th - 20 weeks
Holy Ultrasound. We spent about 30 minutes with the technician checking out every aspect of baby junior. We were amazed by the crazy technology. One aspect can show outer surfaces - skin, fingers, head, etc. Another goes deeper to show bone structure, spinal cord, etc. We're psyched to know that Junior has 10 fingers and 10 toes and looks healthy according to the technician. Junior was super active and clearly Kelly's baby. Junior was doing some nice yoga poses (Plow pose, shoulder stand). A limber little thing. I think that the thing that was most amazing is to see that THERE'S A BABY GROWING INSIDE KELLY RING. Holy CRAP! Turns out that this is for real!!
In this particular shot, Junior is lying on his side with his hand up by the head... You can see two eyes, a nose. Do you see it?
PS: We're going to wait until the birth to know if we have a junior or a junioretta.
